I found this book surprisingly easy to read and follow. The story is straightforward, but still manages to make the world of Narnia feel interesting and mysterious. I think the writing style is probably one of the things that stood out to me the most. It has a very old-fashioned feeling to it, which makes sense considering when the book was written, but I actually enjoyed it. It gives the story a different kind of feeling.
I also found it interesting how C.S. Lewis sometimes breaks the fourth wall and directly addresses the reader. It is not something I expected, and usually not something I enjoy, but it's easy to "ignore" even if that's not the point.
The characters were also easy to understand, and I liked how the book doesn't spend too much time making everything complicated. There is a clear path on how things will progress.
Overall, I enjoyed it. It is a simple fantasy story, and I think the older writing style and the way Lewis interacts with the reader are probably what made it more memorable for me.
