This hike was planned as a half day escape since it's so close by. I planned going there just because I once saw a picture of this giant classic guitar sculpture and I never knew where it was. Finally I found it and I also found out there was a nice hike, with nice views, a Dagsturhytte and an old war place wreck on top of the mountain.

This trailhead is located in Stranda Skule in Steinsland, and that's where I finally found the classic guitar structure. We took with us an engangsgrill which is disposable grill made of aluminium, very popular in the norwegian culture. With that we cooked some sausages and made some tasty hotdogs in the nature.

The hike itself starts a bit on the easier side, traversing some boggy area with the help of wood bridges on ground level. Then we enter a small forest and go up and down a bit before reaching the first rest spot for families with kids.

It was not hot outside, but after we left the shade of the forest it started getting really warm, the sun was high in the sky and between the valleys there was practically no wind at all. After that resting spot, the real hike begin. There had been rain a few days earlier and the trail was still wet with small waterfalls on the actual trail. 

We hike for a long time before we saw anyone else and suddenly, half-way, we started seeing a lot of people. I guess there was this bottleneck that was the steep wet and rocky incline that would takes us close to the first mountain top.

After a long time, we finally reached the end of the climb and took a left turn to the first peak. We would need to get back at this point and go from there to the next peak, but we were very tired and opted to just see this one since we had a clear view to the next one and it was very far away still. We could see other hikers looking like tiny ants going up the other mountain.

I really wanted to hike this one, because there was a war plain wreck, I think it was just the plane motor engine and some other pieces of metal, but still something cool to see. Also because as far as my research went there was a Dagsturhytte on top of that one, would be a nice resting place before going down.

In total the hike was 4km. We took 1h30 minutes to go there and back and think this a medium to hard hike, specially if you plan to go all the way. Overall I would like to return, the views up there were impressive and it was such a nice day outside.
